It is always fun to discover that a common expression may have been based on a famous quote.

Learning for the sake of learning expands the mind however applying knowledge to real world situations can create positive change in larger ways. Learning about the environment helps show us that we are part of it and therefore need to learn how to fit within a healthy sustainable ecosystem if we hope to maintain its healthy balance.


Simple steps by each individual can help change the larger whole. Using less single use plastic, walking, bicycling, sharing a ride, and eating beans as a protein source more often are all ways to help the environment at the individual level. It is exciting to see individuals interested in doing more for peace and a sustainable future.
