In times of peace women are more likely to conceive.

    in Peace is Childbirth.

Childbirth may seem like the farthest thing from peace however in times of stress, danger, or economic trouble women at the population level on average may have fewer pregnancies. Good economic times with peace among neighbors and neighboring nations may allow a woman to feel more relaxed and conception occurs without really trying or more women may actively be trying to conceive. Studies during times of war or famine have shown that it is more likely to lead to the birth of low weight infants which may increase some types of health concerns. Peace may not seem like childbirth, but it plays an important role in supporting a healthy pregnancy.

Reducing stress for expectant mothers is a courtesy that is traditional and also is beneficial for both her and the expected infant.
